Modern Slavery Act Statement

This statement is produced in line with the requirements of section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“Act”) and is made by Cignpost Diagnostics Limited (“Cignpost”) for the financial year that ended 31 March 2021 (the “financial year”).

Cignpost is opposed to all forms of slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking offences in the UK and abroad and is fully supportive of the aims of the Act. This statement sets out the activities we undertook during the financial year to combat modern slavery in our organisation and supply chains.

Our Organisation

Cignpost was incorporated on 9 June 2020 in response to the COVID pandemic. Cignpost began by advising a number of organisations that needed to keep working during the pandemic on how to create COVID-safe environments. This included TV and film productions, elite sports, financial institutions and defence companies. Cignpost later developed mobile testing units that could provide fast results from PCR tests on our clients’ sites. Towards the end of 2020, a new division of the business was created, “ExpressTest”, offering COVID tests for those travelling internationally.

Our Policies

Cignpost has a Whistleblowing Policy which encourages all employees, contractors and consultants to report any concerns related to Cignpost’s activities or its supply chains. We also have a Code of Conduct which sets out the actions and behaviours expected of all staff engaged by Cignpost.

Due Diligence Processes

Cignpost undertakes risk assessments and appropriate due diligence in respect of human rights and modern slavery when considering engaging new suppliers. We regularly review our arrangements with our existing suppliers, and our personnel who are engaged in compliance activities within Cignpost (which includes members of our audit and risk committee) are responsible for identifying and monitoring risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain. To date, no known or suspected instances of modern slavery or human trafficking have been reported.

This statement has been approved by the board of directors of Cignpost Diagnostics Limited.
